I was afraid the peas would not cook down because dry beans and peas do not usually do well in the crockpot, so I cooked them 15 minutes before adding to pot. I cooked the recipe all day on low then high the final hour…the peas were hard so I ended up moving to a pot on the stove. Very tasty, but not for the crockpot in my opinion.

I wasn’t sure if I would be disappointed without ham but this was delicious. Will make again.

Taste was great but I wish I had read the reviews before eating it. I did not use an immersion blender at the end, but should have. The peas don't melt down in a crock pot, which I didn't know because I never cooked pea soup in it before. I ended up putting it on the stove to cook the peas down and have the soup thicken like I wanted it. Would make again.

This recipe was great. I cut it in half because it is only me and I had left overs. I added, 1 cup of split peas instead of the 3/4 which would be half, but other than that no change. it tasted AMAZING. I have added this to my list of repeat recipes. Delicious!

This looks delicious and I'm definitely going to make it. What is the white garnish in some of your photos?

Soup was great. I used the immersion blender and added baby spinach at the end. Will definitely make it again.

Can I make this soup without a ham bone ? Could I add chopped cooked lean ham cubes ?

This is a delicious soup. I use an immersion blender after it’s finished cooking to get it to a thick consistency that we like.
