Tips for the mushroom salad recipe
Mushrooms can be considered tasteless or bland by many, but when you toss them in a garlic, olive oil, and soy marinade, they’ll get all the attention! Here are some tips to consider before you get started with your marinated mushroom salad:
- Clean the mushrooms instead of washing underwater. Brush off any excess dirt with a damp paper towel. Do not rinse mushrooms under running water as they will absorb the moisture like a sponge, resulting in a watery salad.
- You can replace balsamic with white or red wine vinegar if you like the marinated mushrooms less sweet.
- You can add a savory twist by adding a few drops of soy sauce to the marinade. It’s delicious but have a taste beforehand to make sure everyone can like it!
How to serve the marinated mushrooms salad?
You can serve the marinated mushroom salad as a refreshing hors d’oeuvre or appetizer, or as a side dish for your grilled meats and chicken. A slice of crusty bread on the side is a must!
How and how long to keep the marinated mushroom salad leftovers?
You can keep the marinated mushrooms for 2 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The salad holds very well, but past this time, mushrooms can get mushy. Bring to room temperature before serving and add a few drops of olive oil to loosen the sauce if necessary.
