Directions
1. To make the Instant Pot pork chops recipe: Season pork chops with paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and Cayenne. Turn on your Instant Pot and select the “Saute” mode. Add olive oil and butter to the insert. Once butter is melted, brown each pork chop 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the pork chops to a plate while browning onions.
2. Still using the “Saute” function, cook the onion for about 1 minute, scraping the brown bits from the bottom of the insert. Add the green beans and cook about 3 minutes until crisp-tender. Add in chicken broth. Add pork chops back to instant pot and secure the lid in place.
3. Select “Pressure Cook” on a high level for 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of pork chops (if very thick, you might need to cook for 12 – 15 minutes). When the cooking time ends, release pressure and do a quick release.
4. Serve the Instant Pot pork chops with green beans immediately, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!
Tips for the Instant Pot Pork Chops recipe
Here are a few tips to make this pork recipe a real delight:
- For maximum flavor, we suggest you cook the pork chops with the bone-in. You can also make Instant Pot boneless pork chops using the same method.
- Take the pork chops out of your refrigerator about 15 minutes before you plan to start cooking. The meat will sear better in the Instant Pot, giving a nice crust. This simple trick makes a whole difference, and you’re in for perfect pork chops every time!
- If you feel there is too much liquid after cooking, remove the pork chops from the Instant Pot and set to saute mode and reduce the sauce for a couple of minutes.
- Alternatively, feel free to finish the sauce with heavy cream. After releasing the pressure from the Instant Pot the sauce will still be quite hot and thin. Remove the cooked pork chops and green beans and add just a few tablespoons of sour cream. This will help with thickening and also balances the rich flavor of the onion sauce.
- If you’re missing carbs, we suggest serving this easy pork recipe with a second side of mashed potatoes!

I’ve made this twice already and it was DELICIOUS!!! Like others said the gravy was extra yummy 😋 and will make it thicker next time. I will try next time with thicker chops as mine were on the thinner side. Do you think chicken breasts could be substituted and what would the time difference be? Many thanks for such a GREAT recipe and anyone who tries it won’t be disappointed; it is company worthy! Susa

Delicious flavor! The green beans were yummy but the pork chops were tough, juicy but tough. I made gravy too which was also delish. I used boneless chops about 3/4" thick and next time I will only saute 1 min on each side and reduce cooking time to 7-8 minutes max. The flavor was amazing so I'm definitely going to try again. Just learning the instant pot and feel that a lot of recipes seem to overcook by a few minutes - that or I have a hot pot! LOL

I suggest a slow release of 10 minutes. The quick release forces the juices out of the pork and will result in a tougher chop.

This dish was so easy and the taste amazing. The chops were a tills tough, so I may have cooked them too long, but huge success with my husband.
