1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rectangular cake pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate together over low heat in a saucepan or double boiler. Stir with a wooden spoon (important: never use a metallic utensil to stir melted chocolate, it makes it lumpy). Remove from heat and allow to cool a few minutes.
3. Beat eggs with sugar vigorously until white. Add vanilla extract.
5. Add melted chocolate, flour, cocoa powder and salt. Stir to obtain a smooth batter.
6. Pour into the lined cake pan and transfer to the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes (depending on your oven), until crisp on the outside, but still soft in the inside. A toothpick should come out clean when it’s done. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a cooling rack.

It is a lovely recipe, I just adjusted the quantity of chocolate and butter because I had just 180 g of butter at home and I ended up using 240 g of chocolate. They turned out so fudgy. Thanks for this incredible recipe.

Well, I’m disappointed. I followed the recipe exactly and my brownies are cake like. Not fudgy and dense at all.

Your rectangular pan (size)? It takes you to Amazon but, the pan size is too large(12x18) for a batch of brownies. In my opinion..... I would like to hear what the original recipe called for?
