Directions

To make the cheesy bacon asparagus recipe:

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with oil or spray.

2. Arrange asparagus in the baking dish and season with salt and pepper.

3. In a large bowl mix together sour cream, half the parmesan, vegetable broth, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.

4. Spread the cream mixture over the asparagus.

5. Top the asparagus with remaining parmesan and bacon, add more spices if you like.

6. Bake the asparagus for 10-15 minutes in the oven until bubbly and just beginning to get tender. Grill or broil for the last 2 minutes to crisp up the cheese.

7. Serve the cheesy baked asparagus immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley and red chili pepper flakes. Enjoy!

Recipe tips for the baked asparagus

  • If you like asparagus more tender, blanch it in boiling water for 2 minutes before baking. This works well, especially when the asparagus is thicker.
  • Go easy on salt because bacon and parmesan are pretty salty already.
