For 30 meringues:
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 cup (110 g) caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons freeze-dried coffee granules
- 1 / 1 cc of hot water
- 3 tsp coffee liqueur
- 3 1/4 table spoons (35 g)roasted hazelnuts
Utensils:
- 2 hotplates
- parchment paper
- 1 bowl
- A mixer
- 1 piping bag
- 1 star nozzle 5 mm in diameter
Preparation Coffee Meringue Recipe
Preheat oven to 250°F (120° c).
Grease two baking sheets and cover them with parchment paper.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Gradually add sugar.
Beat well after each addition.
Dissolve coffee in hot water before adding the liquor.
Stir this mixture to the meringue.
Pour the meringue into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip 5 mm diameter.
Divide into little piles on the plates.
Space them 2 inches.
Decorate each meringue with an hazelnut.
Bake the meringues in the oven 45 minutes.
