Ingredients list for the cookie mix
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cups chocolate chips
- A handful whole almonds
Add in later:
- 3/4 cup (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions
In the mason jar:
1. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in the bottom of a medium mason jar. Tap the jar several times firmly to get the flour mixture compacted in one layer.
2. Add in the oatmeal and pack down as much as possible.
3. Top with brown sugar, next add in the white sugar and again pack that down. Add in the chocolate chips, then the almonds. Seal the mason jar.
Recipe to attach:
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Beat butter, egg and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until blended.
2. Add the mason jar cookie mix and mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
